Self-adhesive label printing and processing process is as follows:

(1) Unwinding

A Intermittent type: No tension change when reel unwinding, so no adjustment is needed. It is applied to flat-pressing and round-pressing label machines with slow unwinding speed. Since there is no paper positioning correction device for this type of equipment, it requires a clean end of the web to ensure accurate overprinting during printing.

B continuous type: applied to the wheel transformation round-pressing label machine. Because when the web diameter speed changes, the paper has tension changes, so this device has automatic or manual tension control mechanism, there is a web correction correction device to ensure smooth paper delivery, to ensure the quality of printing.

(2) Hot stamping

Flat-pressing: applied to round-pressing, flat-pressing label presses, low speed.

Round press: applied to the round press round label press, fast speed, continuous foil stamping, generally rarely used, the general use of gold printing process instead of foil stamping.

(3) Printing

Flat press: suitable for small area, simple pattern printing, such as price tags, bar codes, etc.

Round and flat: suitable for label printing with field, general pattern, can be simple color mesh tone printing. Round press round for all kinds of graphic label printing, especially for high-grade color mesh tone label printing.

UV printing: in the above three printing methods, plus UV drying, can be printed film self-adhesive materials.

(4) Foil stamping first, then printing

The disadvantage of using ordinary ink on equipment without UV drying is that the design of printed patterns is limited.

(5) Printing first, then foil stamping

Applied to the equipment with UV drying device, the ink dries quickly and then stamping on the ink, stamping pattern arbitrary design, not limited by the ink, suitable for high-grade label printing, is an advanced production process.

(6) Varnishing

Field varnishing: A layer of varnishing oil is applied to the ink surface for the purpose of protecting the ink layer, moisture-proof, water-proof as well as improving the surface gloss, which can replace the lamination process and adopt UV drying method.

(7) Film compounding

The purpose of lamination on paper or film materials is to protect the ink, waterproof, moisture-proof, increase the strength of the label, and increase the three-dimensional pattern. Film is divided into backing paper lamination and backing paper lamination, due to the latter's low cost, is now commonly used. According to the requirements of the process and the composite packaging machine transparent film and matte film, the former is more commonly used.

(8) Perforation

Application is not common, mainly used for computer-printed labels. The requirement is to punch positioning drive holes on both sides of the label, or the label applied on the price gun, the requirement is to punch holes in the middle of the label for positioning and driving.

(9) Die-cutting

Self-adhesive label die-cutting for the semi-cut-through process, that is, only cut through the surface material and retain the backing paper. Divided into two processing methods: such as flat die-cutting, suitable for all types of label printing machine, manual plate making, low cost, short plate making cycle, but low viscosity, suitable for short live printing process.

At present, almost all domestic label factories use flat die-cutting method. The other is the round die-cutting, applied to have round label equipment, fast, high viscosity die-cutting, suitable for long version of the work, the disadvantage is the cost of plate making, long cycle. At present, domestic manufacturers of die-cutting rollers are generally processed abroad.

2、Processing method of paper-based self-adhesive labels

(1)Single sheet

Such self-adhesive material printing method, offset printing accounted for 95%, letterpress printing accounted for 2%, screen printing accounted for 2%, computer and printing accounted for 1%. Single-sheet self-adhesive label printing and ordinary printed matter, the processes are completed on a single machine, low production efficiency, high consumption costs, but the printing quality is good. Such as the use of offset printing process, the quality of labels printed by four colors is greatly superior to similar products printed by label printing machine.

However, due to sheet-fed printing of self-adhesive finished form of a single sheet of paper, can not be rewound, so such products only manual labeling, can not be automatically labeled on the automatic labeling machine. Sheetfed printing is suitable for large area self-adhesive color printing products. Such as posters, posters, large-area labels, etc., not limited to label products. It can be said that sheet-fed adhesive printing is an important part of the self-adhesive printing industry.

(2)Paper Roll

The printing method of web-based self-adhesive materials currently accounts for 97% of letterpress printing, 1% of screen printing, 1% of offset printing, and 1% of flexographic printing. Due to the use of web printing and processing, all processes are completed on a single machine, so high production efficiency, low consumption and low cost. At present, China's label printing machine for letterpress printing form, less functional, only suitable for printing simple color block, line type pattern labels, in the printing quality is not as good as the sheet-fed offset printing labels. However, the use of web processing labels can be rewound into volumes, can be applied to automatic labeling machines, bar code printers, electronic scales and other equipment, to facilitate automated production.
