Generally speaking, the initial tension of the substrate with high tensile strength, hardness and thickness is relatively large (e.g. PET), while the initial value of the tension of the substrate with low tensile strength and high stretch rate is relatively small (e.g. BOPP, PE); the wider the film roll, the larger the initial tension. The tension value is set according to the properties of the substrate, such as the substrate thickness, tensile strength, hardness, etc., and the specifications of the film roll. Generally speaking, the initial tension of the substrate with high tensile strength, hardness and thickness is relatively large (e.g. PET), while the initial value of the tension of the substrate with low tensile strength and high stretch rate is relatively small (e.g. BOPP, PE); the wider the film roll, the larger the initial tension.

In addition, the following factors will also affect the tension control.

1、The uniformity of the thickness of the substrate.First of all, the uneven thickness of the material is the uneven force on the material, so in order to ensure that the material can be well compounded need to adjust the tension at the right time. Secondly, the uneven thickness of the material will cause the pressure fluctuation between the rolls, which will affect the stability of the tension.

2、The shape of the substrate changes.With the compounding process, the roll diameter of the substrate changes, by the formula: M = F × R (where M is the film roll turning torque, F is the film tension, R is the film roll diameter), it can be seen that when using constant torque control, tension with the reduction of the roll diameter is inversely proportional change.

3.、Frictional change of contact surface.The rougher the base surface of the substrate, the greater the tension value, so the guide rollers installed on the dry laminator are all movable smooth steel rollers to reduce friction.

4、Parallelism of each guide roller and smoothness of operation.In order to ensure that the substrate is flat and wrinkle-free when compounding, each guide roller must be parallel to each other; and the smoothness of the guide roller operation is also a factor that directly affects the stability of tension, so it should be tested regularly and problems found in time to solve.

5Variation of speed during operation.The change of speed is one of the main factors to generate tension, and the machine is accompanied by the change of tension when starting, stopping, increasing or decreasing. Therefore, the slow change of speed is beneficial to the stability of tension in each part.
